Kisar Education Festival 2017

The children of Yotowawa (Kisar) welcomed the Kisar Education Festival with great enthusiasm. The festival began with dance performances by schoolchildren and continued with a carnival for early childhood education (PAUD) children from across Kisar Island. The festival also attracted the attention of parents, with many attending and participating.

Teachers, students, parents, and youth from Kisar enthusiastically participated in the educational workshop. Held from November 1–5, 2017, the workshop included several activities, including a Design for Change Workshop, Video Making Workshop, Water Rocket Workshop, Early Childhood Education Development and Let’s Teach Creatively Workshop, Sex Education and Anti-Bullying Workshop, and Active Citizenship Training.

On November 6, 2017, all teachers and students filled Ina Ama Field in Wonreli. This was where the Education Festival was held, involving children from 19 PAUDs, 15 elementary schools, 6 junior high schools, and 5 senior high schools/vocational schools on Kisar Island. All participants attended a talk show about the Smart Kisar Movement, which encouraged all levels of society to work together to build intelligent children on Kisar Island. The event then continued with art performances by island children, a Preschool Children’s Arts Festival, a Science Festival, a Water Rocket Competition, Tab Learning, Letters to Friends, and sex and anti-bullying education through a game of snakes and ladders.

The Kisar Education Festival is a collaboration between Heka Leka and the Smart Kisar Movement. Hopefully, through this festival, all children will have the opportunity to showcase their achievements and talents.
