Tracing the Spice Route, Igniting Literacy for the Nation’s Children

Jelajah Rempah is a Run for Literacy movement that invites runners to take on the challenge of completing 50K or 100K while creating a meaningful impact on education. We believe that every step matters—not only for those crossing the finish line, but also for children who deserve access to books, inspiring learning spaces, and the opportunity to dream.

Now entering its third year, Jelajah Rempah has grown into a collaborative platform that brings together runners, communities, partners, and supporters to advance inclusive literacy. Thanks to the collective efforts of our partners and participants, we have successfully renovated 18 child-friendly libraries across Maluku. Yet, our journey is far from over. Together, we aim to build 82 more libraries, ensuring that more children have access to safe, welcoming, and inspiring spaces to learn and grow.

In 2026, Jelajah Rempah expands its journey through a series of events in Jakarta, Ambon, and a Virtual Run, allowing people from across Indonesia—and beyond—to participate wherever they are. Every registration is more than joining a running event; it is an opportunity to become part of a collective movement that transforms lives through literacy.
